A 9:16 video isn't a 16:9 video cropped down. Lines that fit across a wide screen wrap badly on a tall one, and text that reads fine on a TV is too small on a phone. When you switch to 9:16 we re-lay the lyrics for the tall frame: fewer words per line, larger type, and space at the top and bottom so TikTok and Reels buttons and captions don't cover the lyrics. The word timing is shared, so both versions stay in perfect step with each other.
