Best Lyric Video Makers in 2026 (Tested)
We made the same lyric video in 8 tools: VEED, Kapwing, Adobe Express, Capify, MakeLyricVideo, Suno, Canva and ours. Sync accuracy, free exports, vertical video and price compared.
We make a lyric video generator, so we have a stake in this. We've tried to be fair anyway: we list where other tools are better, and we don't put ourselves first in every category. Last checked: October 8, 2026.
The short answer
- Best for accurate sync with no editing: LyricVideoGenerator (ours). Word-level alignment from pasted lyrics, unlimited free 720p exports, $9 per song or $12 a month for HD.
- Best full editor with lyrics features: Capify. The deepest lyric-specific editor; exporting the video needs a paid plan.
- Best general video editor for lyric videos: VEED or Kapwing. Great if you also want to edit footage, add B-roll and cut clips.
- Best for templates and design: Adobe Express or Canva. Lots of templates; you time the lyrics yourself.
- Best if you want a human designer: MakeLyricVideo, which also sells designed lyric videos from $199.
- Easiest if you made the song on Suno: Suno's built-in video download. No extra tool, but users report sync problems.
How we tested
We used the same 44-second song with clear vocals and six lines of lyrics in every tool, plus a 3-minute rock track for the tools that support full songs. For each one we checked:
- Can you paste your own lyrics, and does the tool sync them automatically?
- How close is the sync? Do words appear when they're sung or early?
- What do you get for free? Can you download a video without paying?
- Can you export 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts?
- What does it cost to get a clean 1080p video?
- How long from upload to a finished file?

1. LyricVideoGenerator
What it is: a lyric video generator that does one thing: song and lyrics in, synced lyric video out. Built by us.
What's good
- Paste your lyrics and every word is aligned to the vocal. In our tests on real sung tracks, including rock and metal, word timing was typically within 50 ms.
- Lines it's unsure about are marked yellow, and you can re-sync a single line.
- It plays 3 styles side by side picked for your song, from 20 typographic styles. No generated imagery.
- Suno link import fills in lyrics, title and cover.
- Free exports: unlimited, 720p, small watermark. No account needed to try.
- 16:9 and 9:16 from the same project.
What's not
- No footage editing, B-roll or custom video backgrounds yet.
- Rendering happens in your browser, so you need to keep the tab open (about a minute for a typical song on a recent laptop).
- English lyrics are what we test most.
- Vertical export is paid.
Price: Free; $9 one-time per song (1080p, both shapes); Creator $12/month or $96/year for 10 HD exports a month.
Best for: musicians who want accurate sync and a clean result without learning an editor.
2. Capify
What it is: a lyric video maker with a full editor, from a team that also makes other tools for musicians.
What's good
- Paste lyrics and they're auto-aligned, or pick from several transcription models.
- The most complete lyric editor here: draggable timeline, 50+ fonts plus Google Fonts, backgrounds from stock, AI or upload, visualizers, overlays.
- 16:9 and 9:16.
What's not
- You can preview for free, but exporting the video needs a paid plan. In our hands-on test (October 5, 2026) the free plan exported text/SRT only and allowed editing 5 lines.
- In our test, transcription split the last 3 lines in the wrong places (6 lines became 7).
- Custom font upload and 4K are on the Pro plan.
- Songs up to 6 minutes and 100 MB.
Price: Creator Plus $29/month (5 exports a month) or $16/month billed yearly (60 exports a year plus 10 bonus); Creator Pro $39/month (10 a month) or $22/month billed yearly.
Best for: people who want to control every detail and don't mind a subscription.
3. MakeLyricVideo
What it is: a free lyric video maker run by a lyric video design studio.
What's good
- No account until you download. A preview was ready in about 40 seconds in our test.
- Transcription got all 6 lines of our test song right.
- Unlimited free videos at 720p with a watermark.
- If you want a designer, the studio sells designed lyric videos from $199.
What's not
- No option to paste your own lyrics up front; you fix the transcription afterwards.
- No font or color controls, and no vertical export in the self-serve tool.
- Free videos require crediting MakeLyricVideo.com in your description.
- Exports are emailed. Our free export was still rendering after 13 minutes.
Price: Free with watermark; $29 per 1080p video, one-time; designed videos $199, $299 and $599+.
Best for: one-off songs where you're happy with their default look, or when you want a human designer.
4. VEED
What it is: a browser video editor with a dedicated lyric video maker page.
What's good
- Full video editor: trim, add footage, images, visualizers and animated text, then size for YouTube or social.
- Lyrics go in through auto subtitles (VEED transcribes the song) or by pasting them into the subtitle or text tool.
- Brand kits and custom templates on paid plans.
What's not
- Lyrics are added as subtitles you then adjust, not aligned from lyrics you paste.
- Free exports carry the VEED watermark; removing it needs a paid plan.
- The paid plans are built around a broad AI suite (avatars, voice, video generation), which is more than a lyric video needs.
Price: Free to start; Creator $10/month billed yearly ($116/year), Pro $21/month billed yearly.
Best for: creators who also need a general editor and want lyrics as one part of a larger video.
5. Kapwing
What it is: an online video editor with a lyric video page and auto subtitles.
What's good
- Upload a song or paste its link, then generate subtitles automatically or type the lyrics yourself.
- Strong editor for mixing lyrics with stock footage, GIFs, waveforms and cuts. Works in the browser on any device.
- Clear free plan: unlimited exports with a watermark, 720p, videos up to 4 minutes, 30 minutes of export a month, auto subtitles up to 10 minutes.
What's not
- Lyrics come from speech-style auto subtitles, so expect to check lines and timing on sung vocals.
- Free videos are capped at 4 minutes and 720p with a watermark.
- No refunds on subscriptions, per their pricing FAQ.
Price: Free; Pro $16/month billed yearly ($192/year) or $24 monthly; Business $50/month billed yearly.
Best for: people already using Kapwing for other video work.
6. Adobe Express
What it is: Adobe's design app with free lyric video templates.
What's good
- Lots of polished templates, Adobe Fonts and one-click text animations.
- Works on desktop browsers and phones. Free plan, no card required.
- Brand kits (logo, fonts, colors) on Premium.
What's not
- It's template-first: you replace the template text with your lyrics and trim or speed up scenes to line them up with the music. There's no automatic lyric sync on the lyric video page.
Price: Free; Premium US$9.99/month.
Best for: people who want a designed look and are willing to time the lyrics by hand.
7. Canva
What it is: the design tool many musicians already use for cover art, with video templates.
What's good
- Familiar, with a huge template library, so it's easy to match your cover art and branding.
What's not
- Lyrics are placed and timed by hand on the timeline. Musicians who've done it for a full song describe it as tedious.
- No word-level sync.
Price: Free and paid plans; Canva's pricing page couldn't be loaded on our check date, so see canva.com for current prices.
Best for: short clips where you want full design control and don't mind timing by hand.
8. Suno's built-in lyric video
What it is: Suno lets you download a song as a video file, alongside MP3 (and WAV on paid plans).
What's good
- No extra tool and no upload. Download it from the song's ⋯ menu → Download.
- Uses the lyrics stored with the song.
- Downloading the same song in another format doesn't use another download from your quota.
What's not
- Downloads are limited: Free accounts get 7 lifetime trial downloads for personal, non-commercial use; Pro gets 20 a month, Premier 60.
- Users regularly report lyrics skipping ahead and staying out of sync, corrections not appearing after regenerating, and lyrics failing after extends or trims.
- Little control over the look, and it only works for songs made on Suno.
Price: Part of your Suno plan.
Best for: a quick share of a Suno song when sync and style don't matter much.

FAQ
What is the best free lyric video maker? For a full song with automatic sync, LyricVideoGenerator and MakeLyricVideo both give unlimited free 720p videos with a watermark. LyricVideoGenerator lets you paste your own lyrics and choose styles; MakeLyricVideo transcribes for you. Kapwing's free plan exports up to 4 minutes at 720p with a watermark.
What is the best AI lyric video generator? If "AI" means automatic sync, pick a tool that aligns lyrics you paste, word by word: LyricVideoGenerator or Capify. If you want AI-generated imagery, that's a different category of tool, and many musicians avoid it for lyric videos.
What's the cheapest way to make a professional lyric video? A $9 single video on LyricVideoGenerator gets you 1080p, no watermark, in 16:9 and 9:16. Per-video alternatives are MakeLyricVideo ($29) and freelancers (often $300). Adobe Express and Canva cost less if you time the lyrics yourself.
Which lyric video maker has word-by-word animation? LyricVideoGenerator, Capify and MakeLyricVideo all time individual words. General editors like VEED and Kapwing work from auto subtitles, which you then adjust.
