How to Make a Lyric Video for a Suno Song (Step by Step)
Turn a Suno song into a lyric video for YouTube and TikTok: get the MP3 and lyrics, sync them word by word, pick a style, and export 16:9 and 9:16. Free option included.
You made a song on Suno and want to post it. Audio with a static cover gets scrolled past; a lyric video gives people something to read while the hook plays, and makes the song easier to sing back. Here's how to make one in about 5 minutes, without syncing anything by hand.
What you need
- Your Suno song's MP3 (download it from Suno).
- The final lyrics, the version that was actually sung.
- 5 minutes.
Option A: Suno's built-in video (fastest)
Suno lets you download a song as a video. In your Library, click the ⋯ menu on the song, hover over Download, and choose the video option.
It's quick, but there are limits:
- Each download counts toward your Suno quota (Free: 7 lifetime trial downloads, personal use only; Pro: 20 a month). Downloading the same song again in another format doesn't count twice.
- You get little control over the look.
- Lyrics sometimes skip ahead a few lines and stay out of sync, especially after you extend or trim a song.
- If you correct the lyrics, the regenerated video doesn't always pick up your changes.
If the result looks right, you're done. If the lyrics drift or you want a different look, use option B.
Option B: a lyric video generator that re-syncs to the audio
This uses LyricVideoGenerator. It's free at 720p.
Step 1: Copy your Suno link
Open the song on suno.com and copy the address from your browser's address bar. It looks like suno.com/song/….
Step 2: Paste the link
Go to lyricvideogenerator.app/suno-lyric-video and paste the link. The lyrics, title and cover art fill in automatically.
Step 3: Add the MP3
Suno doesn't let other sites download the audio for you, so download the MP3 yourself (Library → ⋯ menu on the song → Download → MP3) and drop it into the upload box. MP3 downloads are available on every Suno plan; on Free they count toward your 7 trial downloads.
Step 4: Clean up the lyrics
Suno's lyrics often include section tags like [Verse], [Chorus] or [Bridge], and sometimes lines that didn't make it into the final take. The common tags are removed automatically. Delete any line that isn't sung, and add ad-libs as their own lines if you want them on screen.
Tip: keep each line short. 3 to 8 words per line reads best, especially on a phone.
Step 5: Pick a style
Click Make my lyric video. In under a minute you'll see 3 styles playing side by side, in sync, chosen for your song's genre and mood. Tap one to hear it. Pick the one you like.
Want changes? Type them in the director box: "bigger chorus", "warmer colors", "one word at a time". Every change can be undone.
Step 6: Check the yellow lines
Every word is timed to the vocal. If a line is marked yellow, the aligner wasn't sure about it, usually because the vocal is buried under loud instruments. Play that line. If it's off, click Re-sync line.
Step 7: Export
- YouTube: export 16:9.
- TikTok, Reels, Shorts: export 9:16.
Free exports are 720p 16:9 with a small watermark. For 1080p, vertical and no watermark, it's $9 for this song (both shapes) or $12 a month for 10 HD exports. Rendering runs in your browser and takes about a minute.
Posting tips
- YouTube: title it "Song Name (Lyric Video)" or "Song Name (Lyrics)". People search for exactly that.
- Shorts, TikTok, Reels: post the vertical version. If your hook comes late, trim to the chorus in the app before posting.
- Description: put the lyrics in the description too. It helps search, and people copy them.
- Monetization: Suno grants commercial rights only for songs downloaded on a paid plan. Songs downloaded on Free are for personal, non-commercial use.
FAQ
Can I make a Suno lyric video for free? Yes. Suno lets you download a song as a video (it counts toward your Suno download limit), and LyricVideoGenerator exports unlimited 720p 16:9 lyric videos for free with a small watermark.
Why do I need the MP3 if I paste the Suno link? The link gives us the lyrics, title and cover. The audio isn't available to other sites, so you download it from Suno and upload it.
My Suno lyric video is out of sync. How do I fix it? Re-sync the lyrics against the final audio. In LyricVideoGenerator every word is re-timed to what's actually sung, and you can re-sync any single line. See why lyrics show up before the vocals.
Does this work for Udio? Yes. Upload the audio from Udio and paste your lyrics. Steps 4 to 7 are the same.
